Wolmyeongdong (월명동) – located in the village of Seokmakri, South Korea – is God’s Natural Temple that Pastor Jeong Myeong Seok and his disciples have been building with great dedication, love, and effort since 1989.
The Story
In the past, Wolmyeongdong was called “The Valley of Bright Moonlight” or “Dalbakgol” because the moon shines brightly there. However, when Pastor Jeong Myeong Seok was praying, the Lord spoke to him in a revelation and said, “Many people will gather here like Myeongdong in Seoul.” Pastor Jeong then changed the name of the valley to Wolmyeongdong, where the word ‘Wol’ means ‘moon’.
Walking up the winding road to Wolmyeongdong, you will see a turquoise traditional Korean pavilion gracefully perched above a lake. Along the way, a beautiful waterfall cascades into a clear swimming pool. Near the waterfall, the crowning glory of the Natural Temple comes into full view: the Ambition Masterpiece Rock Landscape. Majestically towering, massive natural rocks of mysterious shapes stand harmoniously erected and positioned. In the background, Mt. Daedun, known as the Golden River of Southwest Korea, rises like an ornamental screen, complementing the Ambition Masterpiece. Wrapped in immaculately trimmed pine trees and flowers in full bloom, the beauty, mystery, and grandeur of Ambition Masterpiece will leave every visitor in awe.
Next to the Ambition Masterpiece is a lush green lawn. A statue of The Holy Son stands in front with open arms, embracing all to experience the peace and tranquillity of a haven on earth. Next to the statue of The Holy Son is a boulder inscribed with the words ‘Natural Temple’.
Wolmyeongdong, God’s Natural Temple, is a testament to how Heaven and Earth exist in beautiful, perfect harmony; it is also where the precious meeting of man’s love for God and God’s love for man takes place.
